Early Childhood Educators

Early childhood educators are vital to the learning and development of young children. By supporting children and their families, these educators can improve child outcomes, behaviours and school communities. The ECE work is highly complex and challenging with emotional, intellectual and economic demands as well as unique physical demands. Early childhood educators work environment is also complicated by funding and management structures that are more complicated than the structures in place for schools.

We investigate how early childhood educators work roles and work environments impact on their health and wellbeing. We have undertaken numerous studies in Australia and conduct longitudinal research with New Zealand school teachers.
